Dear Patients,
After over 40 years of practicing optometry, I am announcing my retirement as of November 4, 2024. I am stepping away from my position as a part time optometric physician here at Accent Vision Specialists.
It has been my absolute privilege to care for you and your families at Accent Vision Specialists, and I will always be humbled by your trust and loyalty. Moreover, thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your life’s journey.
I am confident that you will be in excellent hands with our remaining team of providers and staff.
Also, with over 40 years of service to our patients, my partner, Dr. Dwight Thibodeaux, O.D. continues to provide the same expert care with a friendly smile that you may have already experienced. Dr Thibodeaux serves on the State Board of Optometry and will be president of the state association in 2025. He is an adjunct clinical professor for the Illinois College of Optometry, teaching 4th year Optometry students at our Santa Fe facility and has lectured on eye disease, lasers, and minor surgery in multiple states.
Dr. Hamashige joined our practice in 2019. He has practiced in New Mexico for 34 years. He has worked in Albuquerque, Crownpoint, Espanola, Taos, Las Vegas, and Santa Fe. His interests are in primary care and contact lenses.
Dr. Isquierdo is the “newest” member of the OD team joining us following her externship here in 2022. She has expensive knowledge and experience in ocular disease management and myopia management in children.
Of course, your medical records will be available at Accent Vision Specialists. You may obtain a copy of your medical records by contacting the office at the address or phone number provided.
Please call with any questions or concerns. Thank you again and I wish you continued health and happiness.
All the best,
Paul Tachau, O.D.
