Optometric Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The Ophthalmic Technician assists the optometric physician in preparing patients for their appointments by taking medical/ocular histories, performing standard entrance tests, visual acuity and refraction. Will also provide support to advanced diagnostic imaging. May also assist the various minor surgical procedures including intense pulsed light.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patients for ophthalmologic or optometric examination by obtaining ocular and medical history and accurately entering the information into records.
  • Performs standard entrance tests on patients, specifically: visual function tests including refraction; lensometry and keratometry. Performs ocular health assessment including examination of the pupils and extraocular muscles; and tonometry.
  • Based on the exam findings, determines and recommends further diagnostic testing as warranted or per the direction of the optometric physician.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

– High School diploma or GED

– Medical or Optometric experience helpful

Optician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The purpose of this role is to provide quality customer service while satisfying the vision needs of the customers through the sale and dispensing of eyeglasses, non-prescription sunglasses, and accessories. To uphold Accent Vision’s standards of excellence in customer service; encourage customer recommendations and repeat business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers by giving prompt, courteous and professional service; assist customers in frame and lens selection, accurately complete required paperwork, accurately measure and order customer spectacles.
  • Dispense optical eyewear with professional standards.
  • Perform repairs, adjustments and deliveries of eyewear as needed.
  • Verify accuracy of completed eyewear.
  • Handle customer questions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Optical store maintenance and cleaning duties such as; maintaining well organized work areas, dusting and fill merchandise displays.
  • Other duties include greeting customers, answering phones, inputting data.

Patient Care Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Assist customers by giving prompt, courteous and professional service
  • Self-motivation with an enthusiasm for working with people is essential.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple conflicting tasks and follow through on their execution.
  • Handle customer questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Foster Teamwork — maintain a positive working relationship with your co-workers, supervisors, OD and staff that supports and contributes to exam growth, and high capture rate.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients cheerfully and with enthusiasm
  • Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments and direct calls to the appropriate departments.
  • Assist patients with their contact lens orders, collecting and billing the insurance plans as needed.
  • Pulling and authorizing insurance for patient appointments.
  • Informing patient of any out of pocket costs prior to visit.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patients for ophthalmologic or optometric examination by obtaining ocular and medical history and accurately entering the information into the system.
  • Enters charges, for appropriate doctor, and collects co-pays, deductibles and remaining balances from patients.
  • Other duties include but no limited to; filling, informing patients of upcoming appointments or making referral appointments with specialists.
